The October week of flying has been progressing well. There have been some days lost to weather but the good days have been very good. Have a look at the OLC results for “Warkworth Takeoff”, which shows every flight logged at Warkworth, not just club members.
It looks like Mick has done 200km in the Puchacz. Who was the co-pilot?
The weather for Saturday is looking good. Sunday probably not so good, so a good day for all the visitors to drive home.
The HVGC flying week has got off to a (non) flying start. There was some flying on the regular Friday Flying that preceded the week until the thunderstorms came in and shut down the day.
Saturday was similar but the thunderstorms came to stay. It has rained almost continuously since then. So we’ve just stayed inside, working in the workshop or playing with our model gliders.
There will be more updates later in the week.
Sorry this has been little information lately, that’s because Singleton Council is just taking so long to respond. When they do respond, they just ask for clarification on the same topics. In response to the these requests from Council, and with the influence from negotiations with our neighbour, Coal & Allied, the committee has made a radical decision to reposition the clubhouse and will present revised plans with Council in the near future. The new location for the clubhouse, amenities and bunkhouse will now be approximately 50m east of the windsock and back towards the tree line. Full details of the progress of the development will be presented to members at the AGM in mid November.
October long weekend. Last weekend had some good soaring. Dave flew 300km. The weather leading up to the weekend was good. Everybody is ready for some good flying…
And it rained for three days straight.
Wally launched for a short (for him) flight on Saturday. For the rest of us, we just got to sit in the gliders on the ground and make airplane noises.
Ian sat in a Jantar 3 to see if he would fit.
In the end, the dogs probably had the most fun.
